Washington State Chapter

The Washington State Chapter of the Association for Healthcare Foodservice, formerly known as the Puget Sound Chapter, is an active chapter that meets on the second Wednesday of each month with a hiatus during the summer. Our membership numbers for 2010 are the highest on record for our chapter. In 2010 we're focusing on sustainability in foodservice. A few of the activities for 2010 have included touring an organic, fair trade chocolate company, visiting a composting facility, and an all day educational workshop "Journey to Sustainable Foodservice Practices."

Upcoming events include our 11th Annual Scholarship Auction with a farmer's market theme, and we'll end our year with a holiday celebration of food and fun at the Stimson Greene Mansion. We are most proud of our annual scholarship auction. This is a fun filled event shared with operator, vendor and allied members. The monies earned from this event go to a student scholarship for dietetics and foodservice and will also fund a grant for one of our members to attend the national meeting. Our chapter is excited to be part of AHF and look forward to the opportunities for networking and professional development.
