Member Classifications

Operator Member

  • Primary (one required at each facility) dues are $195/annually
  • Secondary (no limit on number) dues are $140/annually
  • For individuals whose employment responsibility includes food and/or nutrition services in healthcare organizations, chefs or healthcare executives
  • Operator members may not be employed by third party organizations who manage the food and/or nutrition service via an outside contractor

Business Partner Member

  • Primary (one required at each company) dues are $595/annually
  • Secondary (no limit on number) dues are $195/annually
  • For individuals who own, operate or are employed by companies who are suppliers of goods and services to the healthcare foodservice industry
  • Additional business partner memberships are granted to the second and subsequent employees of companies who are suppliers of goods and services to the healthcare foodservice industry

Educator Member

  • Membership dues are $195/annually
  • For individuals who are associated with the field of education in food and nutrition services

Student Member

  • Membership dues are $25/annually
  • For individuals who are continuing education on a full-time basis in an accredited school at either the undergraduate or graduate level

Retired Member

  • Membership dues are $50/annually or $250/lifetime
  • For individuals who have left active membership to retire from professional practice

NOTES:

Membership in the Association shall become effective upon receipt of a properly completed application form, receipt of appropriate dues and subsequent approval of the applicant.

Operator membership in the Association shall not be transferable to another person. An individual member who changes institutional affiliation shall retain membership during the full term for which dues have been paid, as long as membership requirements are still met.

Business Partner Memberships belong to the company and not the individual.

Individuals whose employment stature changes may retain the rights and privileges of their category of membership until the end of the term for which dues have been paid, unless the membership was part of a block membership and/ or the individual no longer qualifies for membership.

At the end of the membership term, the individual must notify the Association of the appropriate new membership category for which they are eligible.

In the case of unemployment, individuals may renew their current membership status for one additional year.

Any member who has not paid the appropriate annual dues within 30 days of the date due may be removed from the membership list, providing a prior notification of such delinquency has been sent to such member.

Any member who changes jobs and becomes an employee of a contract management company shall be removed from the membership list 30 days upon receipt of notification of employment status change.

The AHF membership year is August 1– July 31. Upon joining, a new member will pay for 12 months. During the second year, a prorated bill will be received by the member. This will get everyone on the same billing cycle.
